After last nights horrible photo run at the dog pack (I'm over exaggerating, obviously) I've been very, very fortunate.

Good thing #1: I, Rusty, have just gotten my paws on a Photoshop! Photoshop CS to be clear. Oh, the many things I plan to do!.. but they'll have to wait as I am L-O-S-T within the program.

Good thing #2: I will soon get a subscription to DA. I can afford $30 a year, no problem! And I'm becoming more and more active here.

Good thing #3: I am getting rid of my Xbox Live account... Trust me, that's a good thing; I don't waste $50 a year for something I never use.

Good thing #4: I'm into my last 60 pages in Eragon.

I think, when it come to journal updates, I lack. So, I'm going to start, if nothing else happens throughout the month, requiring myself to update every 1st of every month. It's just to keep everything, well, updated.

Ahem, anyways:

As you can tell, things have been S-L-O-W for me lately. Blame school for the most part. The homework is flung at you like a brick when you're stuck with World History, English II, and Biology at once. Good thing is I'm passing, that's all that counts.

My DA subscription is running late, on my part, as I organize some more important things. I'll get to it whenever.

Okay, so I'm late.

Nothing much going on as of yet.

I've been working a lot so that I may buy myself a tablet. Once I do get it, prepare for some art dumps. As for photography: I have nothing. I plan to take my camera into the desert with me and see what I can get. Getting a picture of an Arizonian sunset/sunrise to show here on DA would be my main goal.

In other news:
I finally upgraded myself from a Visual Land (VL-545) 1 gig MP3 player to a Creative Zen Sleek Photo 20 gig. This thing is awesome, but I feel the need to upgrade again; with the money I gave him for the Zen Sleek Photo, my dad went out and bought a Zen Vision W 60

Okay, so on Sunday I took my camera and walked into the desert down the street. It's fenced off to motorized vehicles with a thin peace of wire; I guess it was to keep the dust level down and to stop people from ripping the ground apart with their ATVs. ANYWAYS, I get there and take my pictures, not knowing how the setting sun's light would react. I have to say, they came out... okay. It wasn't until I started heading home that I realized that no matter which direction you look, you're going to see either industrial power lines, a factory, or a neighborhood in the distance. "Damn it, my photos are ruined," I thought to myself, overreacting. O

HA! So, I'm on spring break now. I tell you, that last day of school was just hell; every single of my classes had a test that needed to be done. Aside the fact that I have a Pre-Topics Math midterm review and the midterm itself to so over spring break, I have nothing school related to deal with.

Anyways, Some relatives of mine are over. We plan to go to the Renaissance fair whenever it's open on the weekends... but that'll have to wait until next weekend because my parents decided to pull a trip to the Grand Canyon right out of the hat. Ah, so I'm back from my short trip... and what a trip it was.

First, we did the 45 minute drive to a rest stop and finished in Sedona in 30 minutes after that... actually, we didn't even stop. We finally stopped in a place call Indian Gardens. The river here is just gorgeous!.. cold too. The shop across the street sold amazing Indian trinkets, jewels, statues, pottery, and clothes. But everything, I bet even the dust mites, had prices tags out the roof! Not actually too surprising though; everything is hand made by the Native Americans that hold on to their traditions.

I'm so delayed! The pictures from the trip will be up soon; I've have down to only 62 pictures, but there's still a bunch of stuff I need to get done.
For starters, I have this Math Midterm and its review that I need to finish. My teacher had given it to use to do over spring break; I haven't even started and we go back to school TOMORROW! It's easy stuff but I just need to get started.
Another thing is that my new braces bug the hell out of me. Got them on every tooth on Tuesday and I'm still not use to having metal in my mouth. What for anyways?! Other than a small overlap of my two front teeth on the bottom, my teeth were fine.

04/01/07--23:43: Disappearing Act and the Age of Rebirth (chan 2628849)




Okay, so the act was actually a short term of being grounded. First know that I have a microscopic temper when I get teased for something I did (and for when someone that is really close to me gets teased). Then know that that temper of mine led to a hole in the wall that's about the size of a door knob. Yeah, so I was grounded until that hole got repaired... which it is. Though I was grounded, that didn't stop us from going to the Renaissance Festival yesterday.

It starts with you signing in her journal. She will look through you gallery and pick three deviations that she will put into a big deviation with all the others who signed up.


Here's something tragic for you all: I can't find one of the memory cards that had Renaissance pictures. The other one I still have, but all it has are pictures from the jousting show and nothing more.
I kick myself hard for losing the important one, damn! One thing I know is that it's somewhere here... just need to find it.

If anyone has noticed, my activity online has been very eratic lately.
It's all because I've got all my focus on school work. See, my High School music program is going on tour starting next Thursday (26th) and anyone who is in wind ensemble, concert band, orchestra, jazz, or choir will be going. The catch: if you're failing any class, you get the boot. It's not that I'm failing any of my classes (A's and B's, baby!), I'm just making sure my grades don't suddenly plummet.

Anyways, the tour is a three day event for us. We'll be performing at Sea Port Village in California on Friday April 27th. All of our groups should be playing.

As the title suggests, I'm back from the Band tour in California.
It wasn't as smooth sailing as last year's tour but it still had it's spicy kicks... literally.

Thursday- It was scheduled that once everyone was attended for at school in the morning we would load up the buses and start the two hour ride to University of Arizona for a clinician, but the bus company ruined the contract which caused a cancellation in the morning plans. Looking for a quick repair, Mr. Vail, our High School conductor, contacted college conductors living nearby. They agreed to come to the Hight School the do a clinician. Nothing special to tel

School ain't behaving like I would like it to. It's holding me back!
What I mean is we are coming up on the last weeks of school so teachers are really pushing for the finals: A Lab and course final in Biology, a DBQ (a document based essay) and course final in World History, a course final in Pre-Topics, and a course final in concert band (WTF, right?).

So yeah. I just didn't realize close all this stuff really was after the tour.

In all disappointment, pictures will have to wait a bit longer than expected. However, those who are involved with be pleased to hear that the Knights of the Moon RP has been updated.

Anyways, I'm on summer vacation. I've been on it since the 24th of May. I haven't gone anywhere and probably won't be going anywhere for vacation. However, I'll be gone for two weeks at band camp hosted at NAU starting July 1st or 2nd. The audition music is… difficult and it saps some of my free time but it's fun. I'll make sure to pack the camera and some drawings to work on during our personal time in the dorms. I expect to have a big uploading session after those two weeks.

Just here to say that I'm leaving for a while. I've said it before, I'm off to band camp for two weeks and today is my last day with a computer.

I'm taking the camera, sketch pad, and notebook. Just a bunch of stuff to work on during free time after lunch and break after classes. I plan updating when I get back. You can expect Photos, drawings, and, maybe, a short story or something. Hey, maybe that mystery gift might be ready by then. ^^
The camp has a trip to the Grand Canyon that I'll be taking a part of. This is my chance to get picture I could before because I know for a fact we are going to hike into it.

With homework, midterms, family matters, Halloween, and a series of marching band competitions coming up around the corner things couldn't go any slower for me in the art department. I can't even put up work from my Art I class anymore because the paper we're using is too big to fit on any scanner I've seen that I have access to.
Besides that, there's nothing else that's really worth mentioning.

Once things clear out and I get my own time again I'll more than likely dump a bunch of things for you all to pick at. :XD:

Yup, I'll be gone until Wednesday, or maybe Tuesday.
Why? Because I'm going camping!

We have the state marching competition today, but right after that I'm gone. I'll update you all when I get back, provided I'm not frozen (it's suppose to rain tomorrow then snow on Monday in the area where we're going).

And I tell you: It's great to be back home.

So, my trip wasn't just camping, but hunting. The whole thing was a hunting trip to catch the very end of the mule deer (muleys) hunting season. It was my first hunting trip and we couldn't just abandon it, after all, the chances of getting drawn to hunt are rather slim.

Just a head up for you all.
My inactivity is due to class finals haunting my school.
They started at the beginning of the week but I never got a chance to mention anything until this very moment.
The finals will still be around until Thursday before-noon. Just hold on a few more days; I'll be back before you know it.

Now normally I wouldn't have so much trouble with finals. This years been different, though.
Since the year began I've been dealing with a double-edged sword. The sword itself has to do with balance between the two work-demanding classes I have this semester, Art I and AZ/US History. The homework given in each class are

Sorry that my disappearance was as long as it was.
As I said me home network went down but that was fixed by that first weekend. The rest of the time I was spending the holidays with my cousins who came over from Brazil. I hadn't seen oldest of the four in over nine YEARS; the others weren't even born, so it was a exciting time.

Winter break is over and today is my first day back in school.

I tell you this last winter break is the most eventful one I have had in a long time. That being the case I didn't get much done. Thanks to the DA staff, the problem is fixed.
It turns out the Friends Management page had glitched causing the DevWatches to not show up.
The thing with my problem was that I accidentally updated the page while it was blank, removing everyone I was watching from the drop-down menu.

No worries now, it's fixed.

Two of my dogs, the two black Doberman Dina and Lucy, got into a huge fight in the kitchen when we were getting ready for Karate class. California Tour '08

I can't believe it's already that time of the school year for the Mustang musical arts California Tour.

Being in both Wind Ensemble AND Concert Band, I'm really excited.

It's the same drill as the last two years, so I'll be gone from Thursday all the way to Sunday. The only difference I'll say now is that, like how we watched a performance of Wicked last year, we'll be watching a live performance of The Phantom of the Opera.

This is crazy. I think it's from the realization that I'm on summer vacation, though you wouldn't know by the recent weather we're been getting, but my brain is being hit hard with many crazy thoughts, images, and ideas, that's would translate well to an piece of work. It's like a sugar rush for the brain. Woo!

Seriously.

Camp ended way back. I'm just going to say that the final concert was something I don't plan on doing again. Don't get me wrong, the concert went great, I just had a near terrible time. Let's just say that my stomach didn't like what I ate the night before.
I do have a doodle sheet that I did during the camp that I plan posting. I just need to finish the Photoshop step.

I've started my Senior year of high school!
Good god. I still feel like a Junior, and then I feel a bit depressed when I remind myself that I'm not.

What's up?

Nothing much here.

If you've noticed, I've put up some new art... well I always think I had. Recently, I've been getting the art bug and have been feeling a need to draw almost semi-constantly. I have new drawings but I often forget to scan them in or even post them if I have scanned them.

One of these days I will do a posting spree.

Besides that, nothing art related...visual art anyways.

This year I've been taking part in my school's musical this semester as part of the pit band. I'm playing clarinet. The show is Seussical and we're having a great

Well, this comes a bit late, but as of the 21st I'm out of high school with a not too fancy, but oh so important, diploma.
Time for a party and late night games, right? Already happened... twice.

Anyhow, with all this excitement and what-not, I have summed up the money to praise myself with a little graduation gift: a new laptop! A Lenovo 15.4-inch...thing.
It's not at the point where I can feel organized and start loading things onto to make it useful... it will eventually. I'm just glad I have it.

So, what's next?

In 6 days I'm off to NAU for what they call STAR. Basically it's a month long college transition program. I'm kinda o

The next step.
Off to college I go. School starts on the 24th, yet most of my things are packed and I'm headed to NAU tomorrow. Interesting how things seem to fly by.

And I couldn't be more excited!

With the right connections, I've managed to sign up for a Freshman-only outdoor experience to the San Juan River in Utah. What a great way to start the year! It's also the reason why I'm basically moving to NAU sooner than I really have to.

The trip starts tomorrow, ends four days later on the 20th when room registrations start, then school starts four days later. I couldn't ask for a more perfect schedule! So streamlined and leaves
